Lions Mane (Flokati) Long Pile Faux Fur- Color Card

I want to love this fur so badly but the texture is horribly stringy/plastic-y, and I wish I'd held off on ordering 2 separate half-yards before buying samples, to be honest.
It looks great and really flowy, so I'll use it on personal projects, but the texture is pretty bad. Flokati and similar furs tend to be less soft, but this still needs some work compared to long pile furs from other suppliers.

It doesn't shave well, but I've never seen flokati fur that does. I appreciate that it's not super dense, honestly, because 3-4 inch pile fur dense enough to shave would be incredibly hot to wear! Just count on buying other links of matching colors for your project if you need to shave it.

I highly recommend ordering a sample before ordering any of this fur, if only to check the texture. Hopefully newer runs of it will be a little softer!

it's really good! but their new folktai line is very stringy and Plasticy unlike their normal furs which are soft, the backing on the floktai is VERY patchy but when looking for the backing on the furry side it not too hard to find but still very tight it seems. these furs don't shave well. I will say. I'm sure they can do a much better job if they try!

I bought this for my first suit, and I'm so impressed! It's 4 inch pile put such a nice effect on my boy, and shaved like beautifully, thank you :)

It's close but not like original flokati. This one sheds A LOT. While I was working on this yesterday, my entire desk was covered in fibers. It's more like a thin fox than actual flokati which is more like a horse hair.

I am beyond pleased with this flokati! the fur pile is dense with a thick backing so I don't have to worry about the backing ripping! The pile length is consistent throughout the whole two yards of fur I bought! The texture is rougher than standard faux fur, but given that I am using this for detailing, I am not worried about it! This not only is a GREAT price for Flokati, but it is AMAZING QUALITY! I am so so happy I ordered, thank you so much for stepping up your game on Faux Fur, Big Z!
