Step 1: Cut the Fabric

- Cut two rectangles of the Marine / Auto Upholstery Vinyl for the lining with the same dimensions.
-
Step 2: Prepare the Drawstring Channel
- Fold the top edge of each vinyl rectangle down by 1 inch and pin it in place.
- Sew along the folded edge to create a channel for the drawstring.
-
Step 3: Assemble the Outer Bag
- Place the two pieces of Mutant Ostrich Gator Vinyl right sides together.
- Sew around the sides and bottom, leaving the top open.
- Trim the seams and corners for a cleaner finish.
-
Step 4: Assemble the Lining
- Repeat the assembly process for the Marine / Auto Upholstery Vinyl, but leave a small opening at the bottom for turning the bag right side out.
-
Step 5: Attach the Lining
- Place the outer bag inside the lining, right sides together.
- Sew around the top edge, aligning the side seams.
- Turn the bag right side out through the opening in the lining, then sew the lining closed.
-
Step 6: Insert the Drawstring
- Cut two pieces of drawstring cord, each 30 inches long.
- Thread each cord through the channels on opposite sides of the bag.
- Knot the ends of each cord to prevent fraying.
Additional Tips and Tricks
- Tip 1: Use a Teflon sewing foot to prevent the vinyl from sticking while sewing.
- Tip 2: Customize your bag with different vinyl colors or add embellishments like patches or embroidery.
- Tip 3: Reinforce the bottom of the bag by adding an extra layer of vinyl or interfacing.
