Please note: The instructions below are general tips which may not be applicable to your specific fabric, detergents, and equipment.

Care Instructions for Neoprene Bonded Sponge Waterproof Wetsuit Fabric

Washing Tips

  • Hand wash only using cold water to maintain the fabric’s waterproof properties.
  • Use a mild detergent (preferably designed for wetsuits or delicate fabrics).
  • Do not soak for long periods—quickly rinse after submerging.
  • Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, or harsh chemicals, as they can degrade the neoprene and sponge layers.
  • After use in saltwater or chlorine, rinse thoroughly with fresh water to prevent breakdown of the material.

Drying Tips

  • Lay flat to dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
  • Do not use a dryer, as heat can cause the fabric to lose elasticity and waterproofing.
  • Avoid hangers, as they may stretch the material—if hanging, use a thick, padded hanger.
  • Flip the fabric inside out halfway through drying to ensure even drying and prevent stiffness.

Temperature Tips

  • Never expose to high heat—hot water, dryers, or direct heat sources can damage the sponge layer and waterproof coating.
  • Wash in cold water only to preserve the fabric’s flexibility and durability.

Ironing Tips

  • Do not iron or steam, as heat can damage the neoprene and bonded layers.
  • If wrinkles form, hang the fabric in a steamy bathroom to let the creases relax naturally.
